Barossa-based artist, Jennifer Rimbault, wanted to give the world a glimpse into the “mythical and magical wonderland” that is Adelaide Fringe.
Doing just that, Jennifer’s design titled ‘Unicorn’ has been unveiled as winner in the 2017 Adelaide Fringe Poster Design Competition today (Wednesday, October 19).
The French-born artists’ entry was among more than 200 from around the world.

“I think the festival is as mythical and magical as a unicorn. The creature in my poster isn’t what people would expect, though – it is quirky and unusual, just like the Fringe,” says Jennifer, who is pictured in the headline image with Adelaide Fringe director and CEO, Heather Croall.
“I was so surprised my design was chosen and I feel blessed that it will be used to promote such a loved event,” she adds.

“The Fringe transforms Adelaide into a wild wonderland of mythical proportions and it encourages people to step outside their usual schedules and be whatever they want to be. Jennifer’s design captures that,” Heather says.
“The Adelaide Fringe is all about discovering the unexpected. Every year we encourage audiences to take a risk on the unknown and we think Jennifer’s unicorn is the perfect embodiment of that Fringe message.”
Entries for the poster design opened in July after Adelaide Fringe called for visual representations of the festival’s magic of mythical proportions.
The theme for the 2017 is Adelaide Fringe: Made By You, With You, For You. The full program will be launched in early December.
